SIKESTON, Mo. -- Flavel C. Westfall, 94, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 18, 1916, in Kennett, Mo., son of Frank and Bessie Tilkenton Westfall. He and Ettilee Holder were married Feb. 19, 1922. She preceded him in death Jan. 11, 2008.
Westfall was a lineman and later a crew foreman with Rural Electric Cooperative before retiring. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles Westfall of Sikeston; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Cannon of Jackson; a brother, James Westfall of St. Louis; three sisters, Virginia McGinnis and Ada Balter of St. Louis County, Neomi Tucker of Essex, Mo.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, a granddaughter, Rhonda Cannon, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Adams, pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
