SIKESTON -- Floyd W. "Butch" Liley Jr., 51, of Blossburg, Pa., died Sunday, Sept. 29, 1996, at Dar-Way Nursing Home in Estella, Pa.

He was born April 18, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, son of Floyd W. and Ruth Stearns Liley Sr. He was formerly of Sikeston.

Liley received a bachelor's degree in political science from Central Methodist College, bachelor's degree in law enforcement and correction from Northeast Missouri State University, master's degree in criminal justice administration from Central Methodist, and doctorate in criminal justice education from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He was chairman of the criminal justice department at Mansfield State University, and past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Justice Educators. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blossburg. Liley served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Chan Hui; two stepsons, Christopher and David Kappell of the home; and his parents of Sikeston.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Charles E. Buck and Fred Leist officiating. Burial will be in Sikeston City Cemetery.
