COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Floyd Wagoner, 79, of Colorado Springs succumbed to his courageous nine-year battle with cancer Saturday, July 23, 2011.

He was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Painton, Mo., to the late Louis and Viola McGuinnes Wagoner. Floyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Following his service, he was employed by Colorado Springs street division and remained there 30 years.

In October 1954, Floyd married Lois Williamson and together had three children. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking with friends at the mall and proudly supported the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Lois; children, Larry (Elaine) Wagoner, Janet (Larry) Wildasin and Randy Wagoner; a sister, Estelle Spane; a brother, Ray Wagoner; five grandchildren, Sara Smalley, Adam Wagoner, Amy, Jason and Amanda Wildasin; and a great-granddaughter, Kylee Wildasin.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Lloyd; a daughter-in-law, Sue Wagoner; and several brothers and sisters.

The funeral was July 27 at Swan Law Funeral Home. Entombment was in Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.
