Freeda E. Davis, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 20, 1911, daughter of James and Della Mae Martin Wright. She married Harold R. Davis Oct. 17, 1936, in Perryville. He died March 20, 1978.

She was employed by the Florsheim Shoe Co. for more than 40 years, retiring in 1971. She taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the First Assembly of God.

She is survived by a son, Harold M. Davis of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Bob and Bill Wright, both of Cape Girardeau, Brooks Wright of Sylvania, Ohio, and Martin Wright of Lakeland, Fla.; four sisters, Veta Haynes and Phyllis Conyers, both of St. Louis and Madge Sample and Shirley Thomas, both of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating.

Burial will be at the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
