ADVANCE -- Genevieve P. Leggett, 83, Advance Route 1, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 7, 1913, at Whitewater, daughter of William C. and Ida L. Snider Birkman. She and Charles W. Leggett were married Dec. 21, 1940. He died Jan. 11, 1980...ADVANCE -- Genevieve P. She was born June 7, 1913, at Whitewater, daughter of William C. and Ida L. Snider Birkman. She and Charles W. Leggett were married Dec. 21, 1940. He died Jan. 11, 1980.
Leggett was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Beal of Arab; two brothers, William Birkman Jr. of Advance, Charles Birkman of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Willie Smith of Advance, Pauline Smith of Perryville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and three sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Glen Golden and Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
