SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for George Thadeus Campbell Jr. of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Campbell, 63, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born June 5, 1938, at Harviell, Mo., son of George Thadeus and Carrie Mae Grider Campbell Sr. He and Carolyn Kay Newman were married July 18, 1960, in Sikeston.

Campbell was employed by state of Missouri as plant maintenance engineer 1 at Bellefontaine Habilitation Center.

He was raised in Poplar Bluff, Mo., lived in St. Louis, and moved to Sikeston about a year ago. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Campbell was a seaman third class in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William and Darren Campbell of St. Louis; two daughters, Kimberly Dussold and Darla Royer of St. Louis; a brother, Edward Campbell of Antioch, Calif.; a sister, Mary Martin of Minocqua, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
