DIEHLSTADT -- George W. Fields, 82, of Berkeley died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1996, at Village North Caring Center in Florissant.
He was born Sept. 11, 1914, at Diehlstadt, son of George W. and Lelia Isabel Kirkpatrick Fields. He and Juanita Quillman were married Oct. 5, 1973.
Fields retired as a general manager with General Motors Chevrolet Division. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joseph Fields of Texas; a daughter, Mary Miller of state of California; a brother, Jerry Jeremiah of Florissant; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two half brothers.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Ted Wimberley will officiate, with burial in Maynard Cemetery near Diehlstadt.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 9:30 a.m. to service time.
