George Heuring Jr., 81, of Scott City died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 26, 1930, in Illmo, to George and Coletta Klipfel Heuring. He married Gladys Zimmerman Nov. 25, 1954.
Heuring was a self-employed farmer and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Rick (Vickie) Heuring and Gary (Leanne) Heuring of Kelso, Don (Francie) Heuring of Fruitland; three daughters, Karen (Willy) Glasser of Kelso, Diane (Wayne) Diebold of Springfield, Mo., Karla (James) Crowden of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, a brother, two sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at St. Augustine Church. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery with full military honors.
