George A. Savoy, 63, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born June 18, 1940, in New Iberia, La., son of George and Marjorie Chase Savoy Sr. He and Mary Heckathorn were married Dec. 19, 1987, at Sedgewickville.

Savoy was a graduate of Louisiana State University. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961 and was a medic in Vietnam. He did heart research in California, and from 1988 through September 2003 he was a cardiovascular surgical technician at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Marjorie Savoy of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Klein officiating. Burial will be in Lixville Cemetery near Sedgewickville, with graveside military honors.
