BOAZ, Ill. -- George "Fuzzy" Shreves, 102, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 8, 1899, in Pulaski County to Sam and Nellie Trexlier Shreves.

He was retired from the Main Bros. Box and Lumber Co. in Karnak, Ill.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen Larrison of Metropolis, Ill., Alice Burns of Davenport, Iowa, and Georgia McIntosh of Boaz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Thomas Shreves, and a daughter and a son.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Boaz Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Alvin Thomas, Floy Patrick and Eugene McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery in Boaz.
