CHARLESTON -- Graveside service for George E. Stephenson, formerly of Charleston, will be held at 11 a.m. today at IOOF Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Lause will officiate.

McMikle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Stephenson, 87, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 30, 1910, at Wyatt, son of George Franklin and Sarah Bernetta Bradley Stephenson. He and Reba Lowry were married Dec. 25, 1934. She died April 10, 1988.

Stephenson was a farmer, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and VFW Post 4294.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, and two half brothers.
