EAST PRAIRIE -- Georgia Thomure, 88, of East Prairie died Monday, July 24, 1995, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 20, 1906, at East Prairie, daughter of John Thomas and Georgia Ann Willis Anderson. She and William O. Thomure were married on Dec. 10, 1931, at New Madrid. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1962.
Thomure was a lifelong resident of East Prairie. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Thomure of Belleville, Ill., and Earl Thomure of East Prairie; a daughter Maxine Sherman of East Prairie; a sister, Hattie Chapman of East Prairie; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; five sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jim Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
