SCOTT CITY — Gerald Edwin Moss, 72, of Scott City died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at home. He was born June 9, 1936, in Farrenburg, Mo., son of Laura Estelle Moss. He and Doris Deborah Cope were married Sept. 2, 1964, in Jackson. He was a truck driver for Didion Foundry in St. Peters., Mo., and worked on the dredge for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. SCOTT CITY — Gerald Edwin Moss, 72, of Scott City died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at home.

He was born June 9, 1936, in Farrenburg, Mo., son of Laura Estelle Moss. He and Doris Deborah Cope were married Sept. 2, 1964, in Jackson.

He was a truck driver for Didion Foundry in St. Peters., Mo., and worked on the dredge for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and attended the Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Elks Club of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dewayne Simpkins of Millersville, Gerald Moss Jr. of Lafayette, La.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Schexnaider of Crestview, Fla., and Gerri Reamer of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Robert Reed of Gordonville; two sisters, Barbara Cole of Scott City and Carole Sue Fisher of Lilburn, Ga.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
