Geraldine M. Siletta, 86, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Lutheran Home. She was born July 8, 1929, in St. Louis, the daughter of Noah and Jossia Crites Lashley. She and Ralph Siletta were married Dec. 11, 1965. He passed away March 12, 2006. She then married Alonzo Massey on Aug. 28 2007. He passed away April 26, 2016...

Geraldine M. Siletta, 86, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born July 8, 1929, in St. Louis, the daughter of Noah and Jossia Crites Lashley. She and Ralph Siletta were married Dec. 11, 1965. He passed away March 12, 2006. She then married Alonzo Massey on Aug. 28 2007. He passed away April 26, 2016.

Geraldine loved life and all it had to offer. She became a nurse and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After her service, she worked with her first husband manufacturing time clocks for businesses. She was an accomplished painter and supported the arts of all kinds with donations to the River Campus as well as other institutions. Geraldine also had a love for travel and that passion took her to all parts of the world.

Loving survivors include her niece and caregiver, Barbara Sexton of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both her husbands; two brothers who died in infancy; and a sister, Mary Jaco Burfiend.

Burial of her cremains will take place at a later date at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to the River Campus in Cape Girardeau.
