SIKESTON -- Gertrude Mitchem, 71, of Sikeston, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 18, 1920, at Delta, daughter of Shelly William and Georgie Franklin Harris. She and Norman Mitchem were married Nov. 27, 1937, at New Madrid.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Richard Mitchem of Sikeston, Gary Mitchem of Wickliffe, Ky., George Mitchem of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Shirley Ramsey of Bell City; a sister, Marilyn Gingrich of Zeeland, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Richbourg will officiate, assisted by a grandson, Rodney Mitchem. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
