JACKSON -- Mr. Gilbert D. Green, age 64, passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at the Southeast Hospital from an apparent heart attack. JACKSON -- Mr. Gilbert D. Green, age 64, passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at the Southeast Hospital from an apparent heart attack.

He was born Aug. 20, 1934, at Whitewater, Mo., the son of Herbert and Alta Chapman Green.

He married Nelda Wiseman Dec. 7, 1957, and she survives of their home west of Jackson.

His father preceded him in death Nov. 12, 1977, and his mother survives of Jackson.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Laura Lea Green of Jackson, Ronald W. and Regina Green of Luling, Texas, and Gary L. Green of Jackson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita and Michael Grant of Jackson and Laura K. Green of Jackson; five grandchildren, Aaron D. Green, Kaleb D. Green, Ethan M. Grant, Bethany N. Grant and Derrick Bosquez; three brothers, Ray Green of Crump, Mo., Donald Green of Park City, Ky., and Jerry Green of Sedgewickville, Mo.; and a sister, Goldie Darnell of Jackson.

Mr. Green worked for the former McDonnell Air-Craft Manufacturing of St. Louis, Superior Electric of Cape Girardeau and Cape-Kill of Cape Girardeau. For the past 37 years he has worked at Ceramo Co. in Jackson as a tool and die technician.

He and his wife attended the Bethlehem General Baptist Church of Crump. His favorite hobby was assisting his family in building and remodeling projects to improve their homes.

He had served in the Army from May 1955 to May 1957 and had received the Good Conduct Medal.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Rev. Joe Allen and the Rev. Ellis Grant will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Bethlehem General Baptist Church Building Fund at Crump, Mo.
