Gladys Evelyn Haman, 82, 3218 Lakewood, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born March 18, 1913, at Whitewater, daughter of John M. and Maggie Estes Austin. She first married Paul Kinder Jan. 2, 1932, in Piggott, Ark. She later married Howard L. Haman Feb. 1, 1946, in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 16, 1969.

Haman was a 1931 graduate of Central High School. She had worked at International Shoe Co. 43 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Evelyn Patterson of Cape Girardeau; a son, Howard Haman Jr. of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and 14 half brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
