Funeral service for Glenn W. Priest, 8375 County Road 203, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Priest, 64, died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1995, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, son of Earl and Addie James Priest. He and Clairene Kluesner were married April 26, 1969, in Cape Girardeau.

Priest attended College High School. He played in various country western bands, including the Stratotones for more than 11 years. He worked the family farm until 1976, and then was a rural carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in April 1993.

He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson; life member, past commander and past District 15 commander of VFW Post 3838; member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post in Jackson, and Eagles in Sikeston. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey Priest, and a daughter, Amy Priest, both of the home.
