FLINT, Mich. - Funeral services will be held this afternoon for Harley E. Young, 63, of Flint, Mich., who died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born on June 23, 1929 in Oran to Clyde M. and Thelma M. (Beggs) Young. He had resided in Flint since moving from Missouri in 1950. In 1990 he retired from the GM Parts Division in Drayton Plains, with 40 years of service...

FLINT, Mich. - Funeral services will be held this afternoon for Harley E. Young, 63, of Flint, Mich., who died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.

He was born on June 23, 1929 in Oran to Clyde M. and Thelma M. (Beggs) Young. He had resided in Flint since moving from Missouri in 1950. In 1990 he retired from the GM Parts Division in Drayton Plains, with 40 years of service.

On Dec. 5, 1963 he married Jeanette A. Markley in Flint, and she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Christina Young of Flint; three sons, Harley E. Young, Jr. and Kenneth D. Young, Sr., both of Flint, and James H. Young of Gaines, Mich.; his mother, Thelma Young of Crowder; a brother, Dean Young of Swartz Creek, Mich.; three sisters, Lois Callow and Wilma Dye of Sikeston, and Shirley Taylor of Charleston; and six grandchildren.

He was a member of UAW Local 659, an Army veteran of Korea, and a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church.

The Bowles-Sharp Funeral Home Linden Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
