CANALOU -- Harold Edward Pace, 67, of Canalou died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, at his home. He was born Sept. 21, 1929, at Doniphan, son of Sherles Henry and Jessie Landon Pace. He and Margaret Hewitt were married Feb. 9, 1979, at Canalou. Pace was a 1949 graduate of Morehouse High School. He was a retired mechanic, and had worked 13 years with Fleming Corp. He attended Canalou Assembly of God Church...

CANALOU -- Harold Edward Pace, 67, of Canalou died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, at his home.

He was born Sept. 21, 1929, at Doniphan, son of Sherles Henry and Jessie Landon Pace. He and Margaret Hewitt were married Feb. 9, 1979, at Canalou.

Pace was a 1949 graduate of Morehouse High School. He was a retired mechanic, and had worked 13 years with Fleming Corp. He attended Canalou Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Pace of Goodyear, Ariz.; three daughters, Sherrie Pace and Aletha Sullivan of Poplar Bluff, Gayle Fennell of Batesville, Ark.; three stepdaughters, Jan Drake of Canalou, Renita Learue of Sikeston, Lynda Taylor of Essex; five brothers, Hubert Pace of Park Hills, Homer Pace of Piedmont, Harvey Pace of Benton, Hurles Pace of Sommerset, Ky., Herman Pace of Melwood, Ark.; two sisters, Nellie Clayton of St. Louis, Mae Clifton of Columbia; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at the chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Revs. Mike Cartwright and Rick Krietemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
