WAPPAPELLO, Mo. — Harold Eugene Pennington, 83, of Wappapello died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at his home.

He was born Feb. 5, 1925, at Puxico, Mo., son of George and Lelia Varble Pennington. He and Helen Andrews were married June 10, 1947, at Fornfelt.

Pennington lived in Cape Girardeau and Marble Hill, Mo., 30 years, with the remaining years in Puxico and Wappapello. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Puxico. He was the bass singer with the Missourian Quartet and Faithman Quartet.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dan Pennington of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Carolan Landewee of Leopold, Mo.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico is in charge of arrangements.
