VANDUSER -- Hazel L. Hargrove, 73, of Vanduser died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at her home.
She was born June 22, 1925, in Cagle, Ark., daughter of Ira Allen and Laura Ethel Coffman Burton.
She was a housewife and homemaker. For 17 years she worked at the International Hat Factory in Oran. She also worked in the dietary department of Sikeston Convalescent Center and had been a cook at the Vanduser Cafe.
On July 22, 1953 in Chillicothe, she married Robert C. "Smoke" Hargrove. He died March 8, 1990.
She is survived by three sons, Terry Burton, Robert Allen Hargrove and Lonnie Hargrove, all of Vanduser; two stepsons, Richard Hargrove of Dexter and Robert Lee Hargrove of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Elaine Foster, Myra Lancaster and Dawanna Hargrove, all of Vanduser; two brothers, Billy Gene Burton of Vanduser and Merle Burton of Blodgett; three sisters, Jewell Barrick of Vanduser, Olive Holt of Port Hueneme, Calif., and Pearl Rhodes of Vanduser; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter and four brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Trish Eskew and Dan Richardson will officiate, with burial in New Morley Cemetery.
