SIKESTON -- Henry "Bubba" Eckles, 60, of Sikeston died Friday, May 28, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after an extended illness. SIKESTON -- Henry "Bubba" Eckles, 60, of Sikeston died Friday, May 28, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 23, 1932, at Penola, Miss., the son of the late Louis and Carrie Eckles.

He was a retired truck driver and a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, where he served on the deacon board.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Eckles of the home; six sons, Hosie Eckles, Joe Eckles and W.C. Eckles, all of Memphis, Tenn., Joseph Eckles and Michael Eckles, both of Sikeston, and Henry Eckles Jr. of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Prince Gibson and Vercie Redd, both of St. Louis, and Ennis (Bonnie) Eckles of Sikeston; three brothers, Joseph Eckles of Sikeston, Johnny Eckles of Waco, Texas and Willie Eckles of Columbia; two sisters, Martha Henderson and Pamela King of Sikeston; three step-sons, Josh Boyd Jr. of St. Charles, La., and Aaron Boyd and Moses Boyd, both of Springfield, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and one step, great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Williams-Farr & Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Flem E. Bronner Sr. will officiate, and burial will be in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
