Henry Patterson

BELL CITY, Mo. -- Henry Franklin Patterson, son of the late Cecil Ray Patterson and Novella Gilliland Patterson, was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Blodgett, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 76.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired truck driver. He was a resident of Bell City and was known around town as a giving man, who frequently bought coats and jackets to give to those in need.

Henry is survived by one daughter, Melissa (Dave) Cherry of Scott City; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his loving dog, Chase.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Franklin Patterson; and a brother, Cecil Patterson.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
