PERRYVILLE -- Herbert E. Collins, 69, of Perryville died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 9, 1929, at Morehouse, son of Arthur C. and Ocie Ferrell Collins. He and Norma L. Stokely Brigman were married May 22, 1990.
Collins was retired from Collins Trucking and Sales. He was a member of American Legion Post 133. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Debbie Oldaker of Greentown, Ind., Rita Webb of St. Ann, Patricia Coyne and Angela Mercer of Perryville; two stepsons, Roger Reed of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Richard Reed of Perryville.
Also surviving are five stepdaughters, Janice Parker of Royal Oaks, Mich., Eva Pangelinan and Debbie Sutterer of Perryville, Donna Taylor of Ste. Genevieve, Diana Hudson of Washington, Mo.; a brother, Arthur Collins of Rocky Ridge; seven grandchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and an infant brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until service time.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carlos Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
