PERRYVILLE -- Hervey A. Schumer, 89, of Perryville died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 13, 1909, at Biehle, son of Henry J. and Barbara Lohmann Schumer.

He married Edna L. Grass Feb. 8, 1947. She died Jan. 14, 1992.

He is survived by a son, Raymond J. Schumer of Perryville, and a brother, Walter Schumer of Biehle.

Seven sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

He had been a farmer and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Highland and the Holy Name Society.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, with a parish wake at 7.

Friends may also call from 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, with a rosary to be recited at 9 at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Highland, with the Rev. Robert Brockland officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
