ORAN -- Hettie Daugherty, 86, of Oran, died Tuesday, May 16, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 8, 1908, in Oran, daughter of Elmer William and Getty Ann Bryeans Joyce. She and Eugene Thomas Daugherty were married March 16, 1928. He died Aug. 28, 1975...

ORAN -- Hettie Daugherty, 86, of Oran, died Tuesday, May 16, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 8, 1908, in Oran, daughter of Elmer William and Getty Ann Bryeans Joyce. She and Eugene Thomas Daugherty were married March 16, 1928. He died Aug. 28, 1975.

Daugherty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert Daugherty of Oran; a daughter, Joan Traw of Edwardsville,Ill.; two sisters, Ruth Westrich of Cape Girardeau, Juanita Laughlin of St. Louis; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. John Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
