H.W. "Bud" Obermann, 86, of Dutchtown died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born April 8, 1927, in Dutchtown, to Harry and Adela Schneider Obermann. He and Betty L. Oxford were married Jan. 18, 1948, in Gordonville. She preceded him in death May 1, 2002.

Bud served in the Navy aboard the USS Diphda [AKA-59] during World War II.

He was a farm implement salesman for several dealerships, including the former Schneider Equipment Co. He later became and retired as a route dispatcher for Amoco Oil Co. of Wood River, Ill. Bud was an avid hunter and had a passion for St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Men's Club.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Obermann of St. Charles, Mo., Mark Obermann of Dutchtown and Bruce Obermann of Florida; a daughter, Beverly Sontgerath of Catawissa, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Mike and Keith Obermann; a brother; and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Full military honors will be provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
