CANALOU -- Opal Inez Johnson, 72, of Canalou died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Dover, Ark., daughter of A.W. and Allie Furr Edwards. She and Earl E. Johnson were married Aug. 21, 1943, in Russellville, Ark.

Johnson attended Canalou Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Carl Johnson of Morehouse, Thomas Johnson of Marble Hill; three daughters, Wilma Dear of St. Louis, Iva Griffin of Webb City, Patricia Pointer of Matthews; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, five brothers and a grandson.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
