IVAN SHIRRELL

ZALMA -- Ivan "Poss" Shirrell, 63, of Zalma, died Monday, Feb. 21, 1994, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born March 10, 1930, at Zalma, son of Phynie and Dovie Hedrick Shirrell. He and Karen Stotts were married Oct. 29, 1955, in Orlando, Miss.

Shirrell was a retired timber worker, and a member of American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Darrell and Wendell Shirrell of Sturdivant; a brother, William Shirrell of Zalma; three sisters, Lita Thornburgh of Silva, Collette Wilfong of Zalma, Judy Powell of High Ridge, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Sitze officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery.
