Ivilla Margaret Weiss, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph and Eva Faust. She married Arnold E. Weiss June 22, 1931. He died March 28, 1955. Mrs. Weiss graduated from eighth grade in Cape Girardeau, obtained her GED, and was a graduate of the first practical nurse's program at St. Francis Hospital...

Ivilla Margaret Weiss, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph and Eva Faust. She married Arnold E. Weiss June 22, 1931. He died March 28, 1955.

Mrs. Weiss graduated from eighth grade in Cape Girardeau, obtained her GED, and was a graduate of the first practical nurse's program at St. Francis Hospital.

She was employed at St. Francis Hospital, by Dr. H.J. Keim, and Dr. C.F. Wilson. She baby-sat and volunteered at St. Francis after retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, past member of Parents Without Partners, Exchange Club and Breakfast Optimist Auxiliary.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret (late Rudolph) Jurgens of Chicago, Betty (Larry) Gliedt of St. Louis, Pat Hill of Jackson; a brother, Howard Faust of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Joyce Hunter of Cape Girardeau, John Dietl of Chesterfield, Mo., Robert Dietl, Tim Hill and Chris Hill of Jackson; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, a grandchild, three brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
