JAKE ABNER
EAST PRAIRIE -- Former Police Chief Jake Abner, 84, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born July 20, 1911, at Bell City, son of Frank and Carrie L. Tibby Abner. He was born July 20, 1911, at Bell City, son of Frank and Carrie L. Tibby Abner. He and Pearl Marie Simpkins were married May 16, 1932.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, J.C. Abner of Lees Summit, Mickey Abner of East Prairie, Steve Abner of St. Louis, Ronnie Abner of Galveston, Texas; a daughter, Georgia Marshall of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Sarah Parker of East Prairie; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with George White officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
