SIKESTON, Mo. -- Memorial service for James Ben Andrew "Butch" Barnes of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs will officiate.
Friends may call at the chapel after 9 a.m.
Barnes, 59, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1942, in Clarkton, Mo., son of James and Dorothy Johnson Barnes. He and Delma Ard were married July 19, 1964, in St. Louis.
Barnes was a dispatcher and forklift operator at Fleming Industries, and had owned and operated a barber shop in Sikeston many years. He was a member of Sikeston Eagles.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Barnes of Sikeston; a daughter, Ginger DeMonia of Sikeston; a brother, David Barnes of Cardwell, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Autry of St. Louis, Wanda Deal of Williamsville, Mo., Pat Long of Rolla, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
