ANNA, Ill. -- James B. Boomer, 86, of Anna died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Union County Hospital.
He was born Oct. 17, 1915, in Johnson County, son of Fred and Annie Miles Boomer. He and Evelyn Pitts were married Aug. 31, 1933, in Jonesboro.
He worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamster local. He was a member of the Gospel Kingdom Church of Jonesboro.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James "Bud" Boomer of Rowelett, Texas; two daughters, Bertha Mighell and Barbara Langston, both of Anna; a sister, Elsie Ligons of Waukesha, Wis.; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandson and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Bon Reynolds and Richard Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
