ALTO PASS, Ill. -- James R. Hickam, 69, of Alto Pass died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Alto Pass, son of Aubrey A. and Lydia E. Berry Hickam. He and JoAnne Vandergraph were married March 4, 1956, in Alto Pass.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marcia Hickam and Deborah Bell of Alto Pass; two sons, James Hickam of Alto Pass, Norman Hickam of Anna, Ill.; two brothers, Donald Hickam of Pomona, Ill., Willard Hickam of Alto Pass; a sister, Esther Bennett of Cobden, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a great-granddaughter, and a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
