PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- James D. White, 81, of Perryville died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 30, 1919, in Ripley, Tenn., son of Miles A. and Berty Ann Moore White. He married Laveda Snoddy Wengler, and she died June 30, 1995.

White was a meat cutter. He was a member of the Oddfellows and the First Assembly of God Church in Perryville.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Vielhak of Eureka, Ill.; a son, Jimmy White of Steele, Mo.; a brother, Dempsey White, and a sister, Era Perry, both of Ripley; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today or 6:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Perryville. The Rev. John Chamness will officiate, with burial at Home Cemetery in Perryville.
