ST. LOUIS -- Jerome A. Zahner, 67, of St. Louis, formerly of Perryville, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.
He was born Sept. 3, 1931 in Silver Lake, the son of Henry and Viola Maddock Zahner.
He married Annette Meyer Aug. 25, 1956.
He worked at the General Motors plant in St. Louis. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 133, AmVets Post 94 in Perryville and UAW Local 25 in St. Louis. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Steven Zahner of St. Louis; three daughters, Mary Lange and Michele Oranski both of St. Louis and Denise Boeckmann of Goose Greek; two brothers, Norbert and Clarence Zahner both of Perryville; and three sisters, LeeAnn Adams of St. Louis, Madeline Cosgrave of East Moline, Ill., and Lucille Bauman of Ste. Genevieve; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Rev. Blaine O'Neill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
