SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Jerry Wayne Skinner of Scott City will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Randy Morse will officiate, with burial in Skinner family cemetery at Commerce.
Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m. today.
Skinner, 52, died Monday, March 24, 1997, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born April 24, 1944, at Commerce, son of Joe D. and Robbie "Beatrice" Smith Skinner. He and Genevia Reynolds were married Dec. 7, 1996, at Scott City.
Skinner was a salesman with United Oil Co., retiring in 1987. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny Skinner of Decatur, Ind., Kris Skinner of Scott City; two daughters, Dena Amacker of Decatur, Kandi Skinner of Cape Girardeau; three stepsons, Lloyd Cross and Gaylon Avery of Oran, Greg Avery of Benton; three stepdaughters, Geanna Avery and Genevia Pirtle of Benton, Cynthia Nelson of Galesburg, Ill.; two brothers, Jack and Jim Skinner of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Jo Ann Lester of Scott City; four grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
