JONESBORO, Ill. -- Jesse J. Sronce, 87, of Columbus, Ind., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1996, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He was born Aug. 15, 1909, in Elco, son of Harvey and Blanche Dickerson Sronce. He and Ruby Morris were married in July 1950 in Murphysboro.

Sronce was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Pauline Rolon and Brenda Sanders of Columbus, Marilyn Hale of Anna, Bonnie Dunn of Round Lake, Louanna Swink of Hillsboro, Mo., Barbara McCrite of Tamms; two brothers, David Sronce of Jonesboro, Lester Sronce of Olathe, Kan.; a sister, Alberta Hileman of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, and a brother who also died Thursday.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phil Nelson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
