JACKSON -- Jettie M. Barks, 90, of Jackson died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Jackson Manor.
She was born Jan. 20, 1908, at Whitewater, daughter of August and Annie Baker Gartung. She and the Rev. Loy Barks were married Oct. 1, 1927.
Barks had worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson and Chaffee. She lived on the family farm all her life, with the exception of the past 2 years. She was active in the former Calvary Baptist Church and had been a Sunday School teacher in the junior department.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Bobby Barks of Jackson; a sister, Maude Hahs of Jackson; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Pringle officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
