SIKESTON -- Memorial service for James R. "Jim Bob" Dixon of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Keith Wilson will officiate. Private burial will be held later.
Dixon, 40, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, at his home.
He was born April 6, 1956, in Sikeston, son of Robert Y. and Jean Lomax Dixon Jr. He and Sherrie Lee Thompson were married May 13, 1976, in Nashville, Tenn.
Dixon was owner and operator of Dixon's Heating and Cooling Co. He was a member of Clayton Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William Dixon of the home; a daughter, Jessica Dixon of the home; his mother and stepfather, Jean and Bill Whitson of Sikeston; a brother, Steve Dixon of Sikeston; a sister, Karla Britt of Ballwin; paternal grandmother, Mildred Dixon of Poplar Bluff; and maternal grandmother, Violet Lomax of Sikeston.
