Jim Tom Sawyer, 64, of Memphis, Tenn., died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at his home, following an illness.
He was born July 12, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, son of Tom Henry and Alberta Sawyer. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
Sawyer was a salesman. He was a member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Huey; two sons, Thomas Sawyer of Chicago, Chris Sawyer of St. Louis; his parents of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Carolyn Lasky of Manassas, Va.
There is no visitation or service.
Aaron Cremation and Burial Service in Memphis is in charge of arrangements.
