WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Jimmy Ray Stanley Sr., 77, of Wolf Lake died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Jimmy Ray Stanley Sr., 77, of Wolf Lake died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Pomona, Ill., son of Joseph E. and Fannie B. Holmes Stanley. He and Grace T. Thayer were married Sept. 4, 1993, in Murphysboro, Ill.

Stanley was owner/operator of Stanley's Standard Station in Jonesboro, Ill., several years. He was a minister and preached throughout the area a number of years. He was a member of Anna Church of the Nazarene.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jimmy Stanley Jr., David of Wolf Lake, John Stanley of Anna, Ill., Daniel Stanley of Jonesboro; four daughters, Audrey Henard of Lick Creek, Ill., Carletta Stanley and Nola Salmon of Anna, Patty Lingle of Cobden, Ill.; two stepsons, Bob and Bill McKay of Birmingham; two stepdaughters, Sherry Gray of Ramsey, Minn., Barbara Sullivan of Nampa, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-stepgrandson.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of service at Anna Church of the Nazarene.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Richard Keeley officiating.

Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
