CHARLESTON -- Joe Starks, 94, of Charleston died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Aug. 18, 1904, in Belzoni, Miss., son of Pleas and Lillie Harris Starks.

Starks was retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Freddie Starks; two sisters, Arlene Hall and Leola Cothran, all of Charleston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, and two daughters.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Funeral Home. The Rev. Wiley Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from noon until service time.
