Funeral for John Reed Brandt of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at La Croix United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Watts and Jim Beise will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Brandt, 49, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, at Capital Regional Medical Center Southwest in Jefferson City.
He was born Aug. 14, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, son of William and Ruth Reed Brandt. He and Trudy A. Wrape were married July 2, 1981, in Cape Girardeau.
Brandt was a salesman with Consolidated Insurance. He had been in the insurance business since 1974. He was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church, was active in small groups at the church and served as an usher. He also was a member of Kiwanis and coached youth baseball.
Brandt was a 1967 graduate of Central High School where he was active in baseball, football and basketball. He was a 1971 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew Brandt of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Angela Brandt of Berkeley, Calif., Amy Brandt of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Michael Brandt of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Deborah Scott of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
