ANNA, Ill. -- John G. Hubbs, 81, of Anna died Friday, Dec. 3, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 17, 1911, near Anna, the son of William Walter and Annie Belle Johnson Hubbs. On Oct. 22, 1932, he married Ruby Menees, who preceded him in death Oct. 1, 1987...

ANNA, Ill. -- John G. Hubbs, 81, of Anna died Friday, Dec. 3, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 17, 1911, near Anna, the son of William Walter and Annie Belle Johnson Hubbs. On Oct. 22, 1932, he married Ruby Menees, who preceded him in death Oct. 1, 1987.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Hall Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he also was an elder. He also was a retired auto mechanic.

Survivors include a son, Jack Hubbs of Jonesboro; a daughter, Nancy Gunn of Anna; a sister, Cora Goddard of Schaumburg; and a brother, Carl Hubbs of Anna.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Steve Wilkinson will officiate, and burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
