PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- John Richard Meyer, 73 of Biehle, Mo., died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- John Richard Meyer, 73 of Biehle, Mo., died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

Meyer was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Perry County, Mo., son of the late Elmer F. and Mathilda Marie Wibbenmeyer Meyer. He and Patricia "Pat" A. Hotop Meyer were married Oct. 7, 1961. She survives in Biehle.

Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis "Danny" and Mary Meyer of Bloomsdale, Mo., Dale and Lisa Meyer of Perryville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Charles Hoehn of Perryville, Tammy and Kirk Kinder of Daisy; a twin brother, James Roger Meyer of Perryville; and eight grandchildren: Jennifer Hoehn, Justin, Travis, Chantelle and Chasity Meyer and Chad, Cody and Colton Kinder.

Meyer retired after 26 years at Chrysler's maintenance department. He was former owner of Meyer's Bar and Cafe and a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pat Mangels; and a brother, Clarence "Bobby" Meyer.

Memorials are preferred for family use.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 6 p.m., and from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Wednesday with rosary recited at 8 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home chapel in Perryville.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, Meyer will be taken to St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle for Mass, with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
