John Turpin Jr.

John David Turpin Jr., 16, of Jackson passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Aug. 17, 2000, in Perryville, Missouri.

John was a student at Oak Ridge High School. He loved and enjoyed playing basketball.

Loving survivors include his parents, John and Soona Turpin Sr. of Jackson; six siblings, Matthew, Aaron and Eric Soto, Token Turpin and Brittany and Christina Davis; and paternal grandparents, Frank and Verna Turpin of Old Appleton, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will start at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.

Memorials may be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
