Jory Len Smith, 67, of Jackson passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at his home.
He was born March 12, 1955, in Cape Girardeau to Joe Wilson and Betty Ann Grossheider Smith.
Jory attended Jackson High School and was a lifelong resident of Jackson.
Jory was a family man. His owned and operated a mechanic shop and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved anything to do with water, especially fishing. He worked many years as a mechanic in Jackson.
Loving survivors include his wife, Jo Ann M. Smith of Jackson; children, Cory Woods of Perryville, Missouri, and Samantha (Blane) Tidwell of Jackson; grandchildren, Josh Woods and Logan and Carson Tidwell; five siblings, Beth Smith (Bob) Armstrong of Kansas City, Missouri, Chuck Wolters of Jackson, Charlotte Wolters of Washington, Missouri, Robin Meier McQuay of Jackson and Karen Meier (the late Ron) Huffman of Jackson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Betty Grossheider Smith (H. Roy) Meier; and his father, Joe Wilson (Colleen Simpher Wolters) Smith.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Fairview General Baptist Church on County Road 253 in Advance, Missouri.
The Rev. Ronnie Mactee will conduct a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson was entrusted with Jory's cremation.
