Joseph "Joe" Schram, 79, of Scott City passed away at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his home.
He was born April 8, 1942, in Oran, Missouri, the son of Albert Adam and Clara Theresa Ziegler Schram.
Joe was a brakeman and conductor for Frisco-Santa Fe and later Burlington Northern Railroad in Chaffee, Missouri, retiring after 30 years of service. He also farmed his whole life.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri, and was a 54-year member of the Elks in Chaffee. He was a commissioner for the Illmo Special Road District, volunteered with his wife for Girl Scouts, and was baseball manager of the Benton, Missouri, leagues.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Schram; granddaughter, Jessica Lynn; several cousins and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Schram.
Memorial visitation for Joseph "Joe" Schram will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau. Elks service will be at 6:30 p.m. A brief prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or the family.
